To recognize International Artist Day (October 25), this week’s challenge is to post art you created, any type of art: painting, drawing, digital art, photograph, song you wrote, sculpture, poem you wrote… any art that you created.
Share your ART!
You may still enter the challenge with any of your watercolor paintings, of course. This is a watercolor group. 🙂
Include the topic hashtag in your Watercolor – Beginners and Beyond Facebook group post: #ArtistDay2022
Deadline October 28, 2022, 11:59 pm ET
Being an artist encompasses:
- painters (all mediums)
- photographers
- sculptors
- musicians
- writers
- digital artists
Artists usually have other creative outlets.
Picasso (born on October 25, 1881) was a painter, sculptor, ceramicist, poet, and playwright.
- Did you take a beautiful picture? Photography is art. Post it!
- Did you make a vase? That’s art. Post it!
- Did you write a song? Post it. Music is art!
- Did you write a poem? Share it. Poetry is art!
It will be interesting to see all the various art forms created by our group members. I’ve already seen many talented photographers in the group. I know we have several amazing musicians in the group, and I’m sure there are poets too!
As for me… I am a very amateur photographer, a digital artist, I sketch, and paint with watercolor, inks, alcohol inks, acrylic, and I am a mural artist. (However I’ve only done one mural. My back fence is 115 feet long, so doing one mural was enough for me. My back still hurts!)

What is the prize?
This course focuses on the exercises that Angela uses herself. You will find these lessons strengthen your painting skills, helping you think more creatively as she demonstrates creative warmups and exercises focused on:

- Sketching on the go
- Using sketches to build a painting (using contour drawing, value studies, shape studies & more)
- Evaluating and learning from your best work
- Learning through copying a great painting
- “Recycling” a bad painting
- Painting expressively to capture mood or memory
- 206 minutes of content
