Watercolor Challenge: Smiles

October 2, 2026 / Diann Zimmerman

October 2 is World Smile Day, so this week we’re celebrating with smiles of every kind.

Paint portraits of people smiling, big joyful grins or soft gentle smiles — or keep it simple and paint smile emojis. Smiles are wonderful to paint because they help us practice expression, warmth, and the tiny curves that make a face come alive. Even a simple emoji teaches shape, color, and emotion.

Let’s fill the week with smiles.  I don’t know about you, but I need more smiles in my life!
