Watercolor Challenge: Tigers

International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29, a global reminder that these magnificent striped cats need our protection. The day was created in 2010 when conservationists and 13 tiger‑range countries came together after realizing wild tiger numbers had plummeted to dangerously low levels — fewer than 3,500 tigers remained at the time.

Watercolor challenge:  Tigers

Here are the details:

  • Share a painting of a tiger
  • Sponsored by SketchBox, https://shopsketch.com/

  • Open to all countries

  • Deadline July 31, 2026, 11:59 pm ET (New York time)
  • Winner announced August 2, 2026
  • Mediums accepted:  watercolor, watercolor pencils, gouache, water soluble graphite, water soluble inks, and mixed media as long as it includes watercolor
